The Amaranth concealed their origin by biding their time and attacking Russia first. Inside of a single month, Russia went entirely dark and was assumed lost. Within the next month, most of Europe and Asia had fallen, save for fierce pockets of resistance. American forces mobilized in the demilitarized Middle East, and three of the Delta Subjects stood alongside the American Military between the encroaching Amaranth and the African Continent.

Transport across the world was scarce. Planes were sabotaged so that they could not fly, and boats were scuttled. The Amaranth were not adept at using human technology, so they could not hope to repair the damaged vessels. The resistances were using hit-and-run tactics against the Amaranth forces to little success, but the distractions may prove to be useful. 

Overseas from the event, what exactly is occurring has yet to reach public consciousness. Rumors are abound as an overseas media blackout has occurred, with hundreds of journalists vying to cross the ocean from one side or another and get the story out. Human beings have also be discovering at seemingly random bizarre talents for what can only be described as magic.
