Exploring Vegitovanie (open)
Ezekiel arrived in the Biome of Vegitovanie only a day or so ago, it as been a long and interesting journey for him to partake in, although little trouble was to be found outside of usual occurrences on the planet of Rastlina. Coming here fulfilled his passion of traveling and conveniently gave him reason to visit the likes of some of his siblings, to be specific, his only older brother and one of his older sisters. Of course besides his stay in a temporary home in a inn, that was who he was planning to stay with, his older brother. It made him feel excited inside to reunite with his brother again after quite a few years, to be exact it has been a total of 3 years since his brother came around and visited him from Vegitovanie. He could only wonder of the number of reasons that he couldn't visit during that time, but he remembered the most recent reason being that he was going to visit him. However, there was definitely one slight problem to the plans, he had gone sidetracked on his way and now he had to figure out where in the hell, was he suppose to meet his brother along with going on his way. As he had crafted a map from a copy back at home, he had the resources to accomplish this task, but in his rushed state he took various turns that he wasn't suppose to. To add to this point, since he knew nothing of the area, he found himself lost on the large map that he held with him.
So with no use of it any longer, he put it away in his backpack and scanned the area around him, taking in the sights, even if they didn't look impressive to those that lived here, they were something of greatness to Ezekiel. But after he was done looking over the area, he remembered once more that he was keeping his brother waiting still, yet Ezekiel, had no idea for once of where to go from where he was. He had figured out though that he could figure out either one of two things with someone's help. They could either give him directions to place that he was told to go, or he could have someone mention where he was, which should correspond with where he was on the map, telling him what ways he needed or could take per say. So with that as he noted the people around him, he would go ahead and ask them of where he was. "Hello, Could anyone tell me, where in Vegitovanie, I am!?" He asked loudly, probably getting the attention of many more people then he needed but he really didn't mind, and he could only hope that they didn't mind either. From there he would wait for a response from someone or anyone, and see what will happen next on his journey.

It was after the man spoke up, that some of the plants would rustle as though something was passing through them. Invisible to the man's eyes as it sailed through a higher plane, the black mass writhed and wriggled through the air and filled the area with the acrid scent of metal. The wind picked up because of the entity's presence, and as it contorted through the air the leaves of the bushes and trees rustled violently. It could have prevented this, but it choose to allow its presence at least to be visible, even if it was not.
Maybe the air would have chilled, maybe the smell would be more foul than it should have been. Maybe the wind would sound like something... more, than just wind but whispers. Indiscernible and low, creeping up the man's body and crawling into his hears, pounding sleepily against his eardrum in a rhythmic, monotonous fashion. It wasn't done in an annoying manner but a gentle one. One that was almost lilting, beckoning him to drop his guard for merely an instant.
Then, silence. No more did the plants rustle, and the shapeless black mass loomed over the man's form, hungry and excited with nothing to distinguish it as anything other than a shadow, save for an expressionless clay mask. Even then, it kept its invisibility, letting all the activity fall to nothing in simply a second. Then, behind the man, it formed into a vaguely human shape. A small, spindly shadow roughly the height of a child, skin inky black and that expressionless mask staring straight at the back of the man. Three voices spoke out from the figure who blended in with the night.
"Are you lost?" The first was of a gender-less, young child. The second, a young woman. The fourth, and old man. The voices faded into the child's voice by the last word of his sentence, yet the unnatural form did not become any less. Simply put, it did not look human. It looked something worse than alien. Otherworldly did not describe the terrible thinness of it's limbs or the knobbly joints that jutted like outward from it's appendages like knots of granite. IT was now completely visible, and peering right through the man.

Ezekiel definetely did not feel the greatest as he was at his stopping point, the enviorment around him didn't offer any gifts of encouragement either as the wild was picking up and noises came all around him, the plants started moving, almost making him think that he had ran inot a plant trap, making him motion one of his hands to his saber that he kept just in case of such a situation. The scent of metal gave him another odd feeling about what was occuring, when did the plants or air, ever smell of such. He wasn't even sure to identify it as metal, but he knew that it was no smell of living things. He had no hope of identifying what was all around him and observing his every move at the moment. The next step of insanity was the wind was becoming like a voice with all of its motion, the darkness of the night didn't help with what was occuring either. It would call for him to drop his guard, but what he has gone through in preperation of traveling wouldn't let his nerves cool. His very body's ways fought agianst such actions from the get go.
Finally, it all stopped with silence and for a moment, Ezekiel did rest a little, only to find that things would most likely tense him up again. The surprising thing that rensed him up though was a response to his question from earlier. He couldn't desribe a way of responding that good his attention and nerves better than the one that he recieved. The voice of three almost seemed to answer at once, but in the end, it all faded into a child's voice, giving him reason to turn around and face to answerer. To his surprise, he found something of horror before him, something that just didn't seem human at all of any known origin that Ezekiel could reason himself with. Even though the creature did not appeal to his nerves or his instincts, he still went out on a limb with it, curious if things would go alright in the end. "I suppose I am, are you willing to help me reach, where I want to go?" He asked in a quick manner, not wishing to give time to such a strange and eerie situation. In the end he almost wanted to give hope to chance and his instinct as things might end better trusting them. He almost felt like he should of kept his mouth shut and ran, going with his gut, something his father told him to always go with, yet he seemed to go against it in the worst of situations most likely.

It raised it's finger to a point, jerking unnaturally as its joints seemed to crack with each mechanical twitch. It lifted its whole arm as it gave a direction, and in it's child-like voice stated, "You must head in that direction. The town is through the forest." It pointed behind the man, speaking in it's child like tone. The voice itself was completely non-threatening, but there was an air of uneasiness because of small figure using it. Though, he could rest assured now: he had been heading the right direction all along. But now, the black and spindly figure added a new element of complexity to the man's journey in it's next statement, though it wouldn't elaborate until asked.
"But there is something you have to do to make it there, and it's very important." The figure creaked it's arm back down to it's side, and tilted it's head. "Do you want to know what it is?"

The being before Ezekiel was just such an odd thing to him that it made the situation extremly uneased. The very way that it seemed to move only added to this in a way, but it seemed to be pointing in a direction. This odd being, was quite cooperative with him, which was somewhat of a surprise on his part as it continued to speak in a child-like voice. Teeling him that the direction that he was currently heading in his lost state was the correct way, it made him a little happy inside to know even when he felt that he was lost, that he actually wasn't, but now he was kinda worried that because of his feeling, he had attracted this odd creature's attention to him. He still couldn't however decide if this was a bad or a good thing, but none the less either way, it was quite creepy, something that he did not expect to encounter on his first journey out of home.
The next that it said however caught his interest and his curiousity, as the odd being seemed to state that there was something that he had to however to reach his destination. From the words that was used, it seemed to be something that would decide whether or not that he would make it there. So with how helpful the being has been so far, he decided that he might as well listen and ask for an answer once more. "Yes, I would very much like to know what it is." He replied, nowing that a task laid before him on his journey his guard and nerves wouldn't cool for what was to come could be something that neither him or even maybe a group of people could accomplish. But he had to reach the village, for there was no turning back to home, now that night has set in on Rastlina.

"It is really quite simple," the childish voice cooed at the man, it's tone becoming playful and with glee. The entity started to advance towards Ezekiel, it's unnatural movement heralding the forward motions as it cast shadows in even the darkness. It's head still tilted, it explained. "You have to run from me. That's all." The voice crept from beneath the mask, somehow becoming more sinister despite the lighthearted nature it had only moments before. The advance was slow and ominous, as a hand reached out towards eclipse. Then, it stopped. All at once it's body exploded gruesomely into a black mass as the white mask shot forward and pressed itself into Ezekiel's space.
"RUN!"
"RUN!"

The moment that it syarted acting very out of ordinary from before made him tense, it voice as it said very sdimple was lamost like a joke that he wanted to hear so badly, he knew nothing of importantance to his travels was going to be considered simple, at least not coming from such an odd creature like this. but, eventually the punch line came at an unhalting speed as the creature explained that he had to run from him. But Ezekiel was in slight shock for a second as the creature expanded and grew bigger, but he took note that it still wore the same mask, none the less. Knowing that like a much large and unknown opponent, his only option was indeed run, however he had to give himself a better head start that this. So with the most useful tool close to him, outside of his bag and in reach and as the creature was rushing to invade his space, it would find an umbrella in it's way, with the spring ready to shoot out the umbrella and cover it's view, heck, mayve it would even run into the abomination behind the mask and stall him sometime.
If and when the creature rreached that point, Ezekiel was off like the wind leaving his umbrella behind. While, his best chances was to veer off course a little and hook around to the direction that the creature had pointed out, in his full sprinting state, he had little options with his medical conditions, so to minimize the stress on his body, he had to straight shot it, and he could only hope that overall, he was faster than it by a long shot. the other question was however, how far did he have to go, and if he did reach a place of rest, would it truly be safe from that thing that lurked in these woods. Hell, he was certain that it wasn't a plant from the mask that it wore, but from it's strange shape, was it perhaps the talking plant that everyone has been seeking to communicate with them. As he slowed down a little, he drew out his sword in case that things truly did get ugly and he couldn't stay ahead of this thing. He also drew it out in case that a plant lifeform intended to get in the way of his path. He knew thqat if he ran into them or one of their traps, he was either going to hope that they would, also attack the creature, or be afraid of it as well, for he had no clue how he was going to move so quickly through them.
"What is going on in these woods?"
"What was that thing?" These were some of the things that were running in his mind and he whisphered to himself.

Hilariously, the man misunderstood the purpose of Pain's mask. Like most Sin Eaters, Pain was a shape sifter. While primitive and limited compared to his younger brethren, his form-changing abilities were extreme in their diversity nonetheless. The mask was largely symbolic, and incorporeal like the rest of his form. He was visible only because he willed to be, but he hadn't decided to be a tangible entity. In fact, being able to move through physical objects was a sort of hallmark of things of Pain's nature. Mortals of all shapes and sizes were but playthings, and the game was now a foot.
Pain's mask phased through the object set before him. He'd known the name, but it was largely irrelevant to his activities and as such he'd not bothered to immediately draw it to mind. He surged after the boy, fast enough to force him to run but not quick enough to catch him. This was deliberate, and meant to instill fear. Fear would lead to pain later, which is what the entity was counting on: torment. It lived for torment, for pain, for the most basic mortal concept. All of these meatbags felt Pain, and that meant that he was nearly never hungry.
But he was also never full. A good meal was nearly impossible to find. Even the most extreme pain's would only whet the palette. His solution was simple: plant a garden. Sew seeds that lead to pain. Fear was one. Mistrust another. Rage. Pride. Lust. So many options to choose from, so many routes to go. Right now, this one both met his purpose and provided him with great amusement. Imagine: this mortal would possibly start a legend. How many would come looking for it? He chased just long enough to make it frightening, then vanished just as he surged to strike the boy. He had become invisible as well as intangible, with all signs of his presence gone.
