Pantheon, The

[Cain]

An organization of gods founded by Cain and Ryuu the Pantheon is a somewhat large, fairly secretive organization of gods dedicated to maintaining the Omniverse in a state of Order, and acting as agents against Omniversal Decay. They are essentially the alpha-gods of the realities, and are charged with upholding and enforcing the Basic Order Doctrine. The membership circulates every few centuries, but Cain and Ryuu are the only constant members as they are Agents of the Core, and thus are able to 'choose' other gods to help them in their assigned duty of preservation. 

The pantheon have several resources at their disposal, such as the various Cherubim to act as informants and information brokers across all of reality and the Seraphim at their order, which essentially function as a high-level counter demon force in situations where the gods can not technically intervene due to one circumstance or another, but 'divine intervention' should be meted out. The Pantheon, just like the other gods, are not above the Basic Order. Violation of the Basic Order among all ranks of god is cause for trial. As such, many actions taken by them within their worlds require a very indirect approach to avoid being caught and accosted.

The Pantheon are at the center of most of the political aspects of godhood. Cain is often seen as the peacemaker, though in certain circumstances he defers judgement to the Three Entities. Ryuu is essentially the enforcer for Cain and the entities-- those who defy the basic order and the judgement of the Three Entities or Cain are met by Ryuu, and thus subdued.

The rotating member base, while being selected primarily to assist Cain and Ryuu in controlling Omniversal Entropy also gain access to the Pantheon's resources, meaning that the regions they guard are further protected by the might of the Seraphim and the information network of the Cherubim.
