In the world of Amara, magic has many forms and applications, grouped together based on those applications rather than their source. The types of magic available aren't exactly limited, though there is a specific school that most Amaranth pay more heed to (consider it the common magic of the world).

  • Destruction: As its name implies, this specific school of magic focus on decay, destruction, and breaking down matter and energy. Most offensive spells are classified as this. Destruction Magic is called from within the user to give rise to powerful abilities. This is the most common magic encountered in Amara, and the easiest to learn (though quite difficult to master).
  • Analysis: This refers to magics that have the end goal of understanding something, usually by literally 'seeing' the ambient magic within it and using that to analyze and comprehend its structure. Despite is useful, simple nature this is actually extremely difficult to learn how to do. For this power to be useful though the item or individual being analyzed must have magic present through their form. On rare instances where they don't, this will be ineffective.
  • Creation: Creation Magic is the antithesis of Destruction Magic. From beneficial healing spells to summoning/conjuring creation, this school focuses on life rather than its end. This is another difficult school for most to learn, as most of its tenants are directly opposite Destruction. Creation magic uses, instead of one's own energy, the energy of the world and those around them. Creation Magic directly relates to life force.
  • Transformation: This highly specialized form of magic is derived from the above three schools, and relates to the physical shifting of beings or objects into something else. The only limitations are that living things can not become a non-living objects and organic matter cannot become inorganic.
